Text printed letterpress on 180gsm Fedrigoni Materica Gesso by Phil Abel and Robert Hetherington of Hand and Eye Letterpress. Printed in black, with blue titles and spots in red, using photopolymer plates on a Heidelberg cylinder press.
This edition is vividly illustrated by our friend, the award-winning illustrator, printer and publisher, Leslie Gerry. It features 21 full-page colour illustrations, including:
All illustrations are printed as giclées by the artist on his twelve-colour, wide-format printer using heavyweight mould-made paper. The sheets are painstakingly fed through by hand, one at a time, with Leslie able to print about five full books a day.
The Numbered edition is bound as a flat back/square spine bradel binding, which allows the binding to open flatter than usual. The spine is covered with red finest goatskin leather, with the front and back boards covered in Suminagashi hand-marbled papers by Victoria Hall. Each front board features an inset, foil blocked, leather label.
The book is housed in a solander box covered with two-tone Dubletta cloth. This is foil blocked in three colours to the front board and has a leather label to the spine, foil blocked in two further passes. The trays are covered in red Windsor cloth and lined with charcoal suedel.
Please be aware that there may be minor alterations to the design as we enter the production stage.
This edition is limited to 275 copies. The first 150 copies, numbered 1 – 150, will be first offered privately to current Lyra’s Press rights holders (those who are the registered Numbered edition rights holders of The Alchemist).
Rights holders will be contacted on Monday the 17th of November and will have until Thursday the 20th of November to make their purchase. Any copies not taken up by current rights holders, as well as the remaining 125 copies (numbered 151 – 275) will be available by lottery ONLY.
We are adding an additional 50 Numbered edition rights holders with this sale. Customers who are assigned numbers 151 – 200 will obtain rights for future Lyra’s Press titles.
The lottery form will be open on this page from Friday the 21st of November until Sunday the 23rd of November.
Winners will be notified by email and sent a payment link on Monday the 24th of November. The option to purchase will be in place for 24 hours from the timestamp of the notification email, after which any non-purchased copies will be offered to someone else.
There is a ‘one entry per household’ rule in place for the lottery for this edition. We ask that you please respect this rule so that everyone has a fair and equal chance. If we find multiple entries, they will be deleted and you will be banned from the lottery for this edition.
If we fail to sell all copies through the lottery, these copies will become available on the website shortly afterwards and you will be able to purchase directly through the shop page. All purchase limits will then be removed.
You may also enter the lottery for the lettered edition, should there be one.
Click here to see our rules around the lotteries on our FAQ page.
As mentioned above, we will be increasing our rights holders copies to 200 so there will be an additional 50 rights copies available with this title. This means that copies of Don’t Look Now that are numbered 1 – 200 will carry rights to the next Lyra’s Press title going forward. Copies numbered 200 – 275 will not carry rights to the next title. If you are successful in the lottery, you will be notified as to whether your copy carries rights or not, before you make your purchase.

We accept payments via PayPal, Stripe (credit card), Wise and direct bank transfer (if in the UK).
The cost of shipping is £25 in the UK and £55 for the rest of the world. The shipping cost is based on custom made boxes with foam, packing and booking time as well as the cost of the courier service.
All books will be packed into custom made, double walled cartons and surrounded by thick foam on six sides to ensure safe delivery.
Deliveries within the UK will be sent via a 48 hour courier. Delivery times elsewhere in the world will vary depending on your location, but we expect that the books will largely be delivered within a few days, at most. All services will be fully trackable and you will be sent a confirmation of shipping along with a tracking number when your parcel is booked with the courier. If you have a preferred courier service then do let us know and we will try our best to use them if they are available.
All international deliveries, including to the EU, now have full customs declarations. Any import taxes, customs duties or fees must be paid for by the recipient. Customs policies vary from country to country and you should contact your local customs office for more information. Customs clearance procedures may cause delays and extend our quoted delivery time estimates, for which we cannot be liable.
Note for US Buyers: We are based in the UK. From August 29, 2025, all UK-origin shipments to the United States are subject to customs processing. Printed books remain duty-free under US law, but some states may charge sales tax or handling fees on delivery. Please be aware that delivery times may be slightly longer due to customs clearance. We clearly label the parcels as ‘Books/Printed Matter’ along with the customs code.
Please note – we cannot deliver to PO Box addresses.
We expect to have the books finished and ready to ship in Q1 of 2026.
