Terms and Conditions

Our Terms of Purchase

When you order from us, you buy under our terms & conditions, and by placing an order it is deemed that you have read and accepted these.

Lotteries and the ‘One Copy Per Household’ Rule

The majority of our sales are done by lottery. For these sales there is a ‘one copy per household’ rule in place. This is to ensure everyone has as fair and equal a chance as possible. We kindly request that all customers adhere to this rule. If we discover multiple entries in the same lottery, the customer will be banned from that lottery and all entries will be removed. If you are already the owner of a particular edition then you may not enter a lottery to purchase additional copies. If we fail to sell out a particular edition through a lottery, any remaining copies will then be added to our ‘Shop’ page and all limits and restrictions will then be removed.

Payment

For purchases via lottery and email, we accept the following methods of payment: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, PayPal, Wise Transfer and Bank Transfer (if in the UK). All prices are in pounds sterling. For sales directly through our shop pages we accept: Visa, Mastercard, Amex and PayPal. The Stripe payment system also allows Apple Pay and Google Pay options.

Postage Costs

Shipping is calculated by the combined packaging, handling and courier cost. All international deliveries, including to the EU, now have full customs declarations. Any import taxes, customs duties or fees must be paid for by the recipient. Customs policies vary from country to country and you should contact your local customs office for more information. Customs clearance procedures may cause delays and extend our quoted delivery time estimates.

Please be aware that we are a business based in the UK. Currently, according to the White House, there are no tariffs on books or printed matter entering the US. However, this situation is fluid and may change. Any and all customs fees are payable by the customer upon arrival at customs. We recommend contacting your local customs office if you have any questions.

Acknowledgement of Order

All customers that purchase via lottery and email will receive a Google Forms link to fill out their order details, followed by an invoice via their preferred payment method. We will manually send out a payment confirmation email shortly after payment has been received. All orders made through our shop pages will automatically receive an order confirmation email to the email address provided at checkout.

Speed of Dispatch

All books are sold as pre-orders. This means that the books will not be finished and ready to ship for some time after payment has been made. These are handmade items and so the timescale varies from project to project, but it will usually be between 6 – 12 months before delivery is made. Please check the product page of the title you are planning on purchasing for more accurate timescales. We make every effort to meet the timescales we set for each title but, due to the nature of handmade books and the many processes involved, delays are possible and sometimes unavoidable.

Delivery

When the books are finished, all copies will be sent out using express delivery services. In the UK we use a 24-48 hour courier service. For international deliveries we use a variety of courier services but we are happy to use a particular service if you advise us at the time of ordering.

Deliveries to Europe are often within 3 days. Worldwide, deliveries can take longer but we would expect them to be no longer than 3-7 days depending on your location. These times are only a guide. All deliveries will be fully trackable.

Delivery times are, however, subject to customs clearance, local services etc., which may affect estimated delivery. In case of any questions regarding delivery, please contact the delivery service using your tracking reference.

It is our policy to replace books that are lost in the post. If you do not receive your delivery in the expected timeframe, please let us know.

Delivery to some countries has presented us with persistent problems, even when using tracked and signed for services. As a result, we can only send books to Brazil, Mexico and other Central and South American countries at the risk of the recipient.

We currently are not able to deliver to Ukraine, Russia or Belarus.

We will not be responsible for any orders which are not delivered due to incorrect or incomplete information being supplied by you. Please ensure that you enter full and accurate details of the delivery address, the postal/zip code and contact phone number. Please double-check the address carefully on the invoice when placing your order; if you notice an error after placing an order, email us as soon as possible with the correct details. In the event that a package is returned to us, you will be responsible for the return shipping cost as well as the redelivery cost.

We cannot deliver to PO Box addresses.

Returns

If the book that you have purchased has physical faults, either in its manufacture or from damage in the shipping process, please email us to request a replacement. You must do so within 7 days of receipt of the book(s) or we cannot offer a refund or replacement. In the case that replacement is not possible we will refund you within 7 days of the return of the damaged or incorrect book(s). Return delivery due to damage is covered by us. Return delivery is also covered by us if due to a shipping error made by us. We cannot consider copies returned for any other reasons.
