Stardust

I hope everyone is doing well and staying as safe as can be. As stated in my social media posts yesterday, I am making an announcement today about a project which has been in the pipeline for a very long time.

I am very happy to say that Lyra’s Books will be publishing and binding a limited, fine press edition of Neil Gaiman’s ‘STARDUST’.

I will keep this brief as things have only just been finalised. I just wanted to take this opportunity to share my excitement and to let people know that this is on the way, with an expected publication date of summer 2020.

This publication will be strictly limited to 626 copies and will split into 3 separate editions – 500 cloth bound, 100 leather bound, and 26 lettered copies.

These books will be illustrated by the amazing Charles Vess, numbered and presented in either a slipcase or solander (clamshell) box. All books will be signed by the illustrator, or by both the illustrator and author. This is fine press publishing, so everything in this edition will be hand made. From the letterpress printing of each and every book, the marbled endpapers, the hand gilded page edges, right through to the skilfully crafted bindings themselves.

Due to the current pandemic crisis, the finer details and exact dates are a little hazier than they were just a few weeks ago but I will endeavour to keep everyone updated as accurately as possible. Prices and pre-order date will be announced in the coming weeks.

This book is still in pre-production and I’m currently finalising designs for the bindings. The photos on this blog post are of a prototype for the ‘Leather’ edition – fully bound in dark blue leather with hand sprinkled gold ‘dust’.

If you have any questions, please direct them to myself and NOT to Neil (he is way too busy already and probably couldn’t help you much anyway!).

Thanks for reading!
